A new school year is like a blank page.
I look at my classmates and wonder which will be the protagonist in my story.
Will she and I share happy memories?
Will she stick by me when an antagonist comes on the scene?
And who will be the antagonist?
Will it be the brooding new student sitting in the back of the room?
With his black hoodie pulled up and his bangs covering his eyes, he looks menacing.
Will there be a hero in my story this year?
Someone to come to my rescue?
I know not what this year's story will bring.
I do hope it ends happily ever after.
